(Services Provided: Interior Design, Window Coverings) Building a high-end new home can be a very daunting and fearful task for an average person like me. There were so many decisions to make, and I felt so unqualified to make them. Now that we had the house plan, the rest was up to us! I struggled and agonized over all of the important interior details. I felt totally inadequate and unprepared to make the necessary decisions to guarantee a beautiful finished product.
Fortunately, my fears were put to rest when Gord Maljaars stepped onto the scene! I could not believe how comfortable and how at ease he was in helping me make decisions. His expertise and professionalism made the rest of the home building process smooth and enjoyable! Gord helped me pick absolutely everything for the inside of our home. We looked at paint colours, fireplace options, window coverings, kitchen cabinet options, granite and quartz options, lighting ideas, exterior paint colours, exterior pillar finishes, tile and carpet choices, railing choices, cabinet levers, faucets, toilets, sinks, backsplash options, and the list goes on.
Gord graciously gave me choices without pushing his opinion. However, if I asked him what he thought or what his choice would be, he gave me that, as well. Gord met me whenever and wherever it was needed: at our new home, at the flooring store, at the lighting store, at the granite store, and at his own store Matters of Design. Gord was always positive, patient, and helpful, even when I struggled with a decision.
